FIT 2 STITCH Season 7
#701 “The Base Concept”
The Capsule Wardrobe consists of great, base pieces. The first base, the Tank Top, is a critical part of this group. We will discuss all aspects of this fashion piece including its history.
#702 “The T-shirt for Everyone”
The knit top pattern is one of our most used base pieces. With only 3 pieces, we will fit it, sew it, change it, then sew it again. The knit shirt is the most popular garment of our modern times because of its comfort and easy care.
#703 “Image Consultant and Closet Organization”
To start making the most of our closet, we need to reach deep down and get to know who we are and what we like. We have an expert wardrobe consultant today who knows just the right questions you can ask yourself to help you discover a wardrobe full of favorite items that will reveal your best you!
#704 “The Blouse”
The third piece in our capsule wardrobe is the blouse, by definition a woven garment that is worn loosely with a front closure. Today on Fit 2 Stitch we will show you how to fit a blouse properly and change the tissue to duplicate our draped changes.
#705 “The Jean Jacket”
Jean jackets have been part of our core closets for well over 100 years. The first was created by Levi Strauss for cowboys, railroad engineers and miners to wear during the gold rush. Since that time, women have adopted them and made them a staple as they are the 4th piece of our capsule wardrobe.
#706 “Seam Finishes”
It will always be amazing to me as I look at one pattern, then look at the changes that can be done with that pattern. Today on Fit 2 Stitch, we will do that with seams. So many options as we take the pattern and change up how the seams are stitched which have a huge impact on the look of the final garment.
#707 “The Jacket”
Originating during the middle ages, the Jacket is today’s most important garment in all women’s wardrobe. It is our 5th garment in our capsule wardrobe. It communicates education, it says honesty, it says I am prepared and so much more.
#708 “Sewing, Lining, and Fusing the Jacket”
Today on Fit 2 Stitch, we continue to make jacket sewing simpler than ever. Factory methods used today to make a jacket have a factory-made jacket complete in just 3 hours. And remember all of today’s jackets in ready-to-wear are factory made.
#709 “Accessories”
Accessories are small additions with large impact on our capsule wardrobe. In fact, it has been said that accessories are like having an entire additional wardrobe. I love accessories and I will show you why!
#710 “The Pant”
Today’s modern woman has a wardrobe of pants that take her everywhere from her place of work to the exercise class. And what is the difference? Today we will explore our 6th capsule wardrobe piece, the pant, and make one pattern work in so many different ways.
#711 “The Jean”
The Jean originated in 1873 and is still one of the most popular parts of our wardrobes today. Jeans are part of our capsule wardrobe yet they, if purchased, are sometimes very expensive and poorly fitted. We will fit both the stretch jean and the non-stretch jean and compare the differences so regardless of the fabrics you are using, you get the result you want.
#712 “Skirts and Knit Cardigan”
The skirt and the knit cardigan complete our capsule wardrobe’s last 2 pieces and these are great pieces to really understand. We will learn the many options we have with the skirt so we’ll take the skirt base, then cut and tape a bit to see what else will result.
#713 “The Coat/Dress”
Today our goal is to take our 9 base patterns and mix and match to see the results. The capsule wardrobe is complete, but they are all patterns and we have extra fabric, so we can shake it all up a bit and see what comes out. 9 patterns to make even more than our original 27 outfits.
