Featuring an introduction by This Old House 's Kevin O'Connor, NEW ORLEANS: GETTING BACK TO NORMAL follows Louisiana homeowners and business owners immersed in rebuilding their lives and neighborhoods after Hurricane Katrina. A decorated fireman from the lower 9th Ward tells of his family's quest to restore their once-grand home while living in a FEMA trailer. Weelchair-bound Sonia St. Cyr recounts her dramatic airlift onto a helicopter as water rushed down her street like a raging river. A young photographer and his wife reconstruct their home while sharing their little space with the trumpet player from her band.
