James Brown was universally hailed as the "Godfather of Soul" from the start of his career in the 1950s until his death in 2006. His career reached a pinnacle during the 1960s when he was considered one of the world's greatest live performers, a claim borne out by the legendary live album Live At The Apollo. JAMES BROWN: LIVE IN AMERICA captures the performer at his peak. The concert, filmed at the legendary Chastain Park in Atlanta, Georgia in 1984, also features Maceo Parker on saxophone, who famously played with Brown during the sixties and with Parliament and Funkadelic during the seventies.
