Description
Skimmilk Farm, a once-abandoned colonial-era dairy farm in southern New Hampshire, served as the summer home of the late poet Jean Pedrick Kefferstan (1923-2006) and her family in the 1950s. In time, it also became both a refuge and a mecca for poets and writers, many of them women, for more than 30 years. MONDAYS AT SKIMMILK: 30 YEARS OF WRITERS AT WORK celebrates writers, and the creative writing process, through the wit and wisdom of noted New England poets and authors. The documentary recounts the history of the Skimmilk Farm Writers Workshop, which has helped shape the careers of numerous New Hampshire and New England writers, providing them with peer support, friendship and a sense of community for over three decades. The film weaves together clips from the colorful workshop sessions and poetry readings with interviews of the participants at Skimmilk Farm for an insightful look into the craft of writing. |
