Description
For more than 17 years, Robert E. Harrill, better known as "The Fort Fisher Hermit," lived under the stars and off the land, sustaining himself with contributions from his many coastal North Carolina visitors. During the late 1960s, Harrill became the state's second-largest tourist attraction as thousands of visitors and locals lined up to hear his philosophies at "The School of Common Sense" — all delivered from the abandoned bunker he called home. Through one-of-a-kind interviews, rare photographs and vintage footage, THE FORT FISHER HERMIT: THE LIFE AND DEATH OF ROBERT E. HARRILL explores the human behind "The Hermit" — from his tumultuous upbringing to his suspicious death at age 64. Actor Barry Corbin (Northern Exposure)narrates. |
