The moving and exhilarating film MY LEFT FOOT features Daniel Day-Lewis in his Academy Award-winning role as Christy Brown, an Irishman who rose above severe cerebral palsy. As a young child Christy shocked the family and doctors who thought he was completely disabled when he grabbed a piece of chalk with his left foot and scrawled the letter “A” on his sister’s chalkboard. With a balance of humor, warmth, and poignancy, the film tells the touching story of Christy’s life from that first surprising communication to his remarkable success as an artist and writer. Brenda Fricker and Ray McAnally shine as Christy's parents, and Hugh O'Conor gives a remarkable performance as the young Christy.
