Description
All across the United States, women, men and children are picking up knitting needles to make hats, scarves, sweaters and gifts for their family and friends. In LEARN TO KNIT, host Vicki Payne (For Your Home, Memories and Scrapbooking for Your Home) introduces the exciting world of knitting, including the latest craze in yarns. The pledge special also visits knitting enthusiasts who have formed groups to share their love of this time-honored hobby. Along the way, they have built lasting relationships, reduced stress and performed charitable deeds. Later, knitting advisor Kathleen Sams teaches knitting basics, including how to read a pattern, determine the knitting gauge, cast on and off stitches, perfect the knit stitch, master the purl, increase and decrease the number of stitches, and sew projects together. |
