Description

ADDICTIONS IN THE WORKPLACE: THE PRICE WE ALL PAY focuses attention on the profound effects of addiction in the working environment, with emphasis on treatment and the stigma attached to addictions including substance abuse and gambling. In what is ordinarily considered a personal issue, ADDICTIONS IN THE WORKPLACE: THE PRICE WE ALL PAY illuminates addictions' high economic impact on business, as well as the less quantifiable, but very real, social costs. Several professionals, including CNN's Susan Rook, reflect on their descent into addiction and how their cries for help went unheard by their family, friends and colleagues. Segments focus on both blue and white collar individuals who are now living sober, and the treatment centers that have provided the medical, social and psychological services that are used to help treat addiction.
