APT documentaries shine in April

In addition to the usual success with classic movies, how-to and travel programs, THE QUEEN AT 80 and THE TEACHINGS OF JON were APT's stand-out programs this April.

THE QUEEN AT 80 averaged a 2.1 over 12 primetime plays in April, garnering several noted ratings accomplishments along the way. During the week of April 17-23, the program ranked second in public television's primetime with a 2.4 rating across 6 plays. KCTS/Seattle's April 19 airing earned a 4.5/7, the highest-rated airing in public television's primetime that night.

Additionally, THE TEACHINGS OF JON found a receptive audience in April. Over the course of the month, it averaged 1.5 over 12 primetime plays. In particular, on Monday, April 10, the documentary scored a 1.6 rating over seven plays outpacing the other widely carried program airing in that time slot, Gulf Coast: Road to Renewal. The program peaked with a 2.8/8 on KUED/Salt Lake.
