American Public Television Shows Honored With Daytime Emmy Nominations
Gourmet’s Dairy of a Foodie, Simply Ming,
Equitrekking and Biz Kid$ receive 2009 Emmy nominations.
BOSTON (May 15, 2009) - American Public Television (APT), the leading distributor of lifestyle programs for public television, announces that four of its best-known programs have once again been recognized by the television industry for the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards. The Awards will be presented Aug. 30 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.
The programs nominated feature some of the most recognized shows and personalities in public television. Two of APT’s cooking shows are in competition for the prestigious “Outstanding Culinary Program” – SIMPLY MING, starring chef Ming Tsai, and GOURMET’S DIARY OF A FOODIE, featuring Gourmet magazine editor Ruth Reichl.
Ming also received a nomination for “Outstanding Lifestyle / Culinary Host,” and GOURMET’S DIARY OF A FOODIE was also recognized with a nomination for “Outstanding Achievement in Single Camera Editing.”
The unique travel series EQUITREKKING, featuring host Darley Newman’s horseback expeditions across the world, was nominated for “Outstanding Special Class Series” and “Outstanding Achievement in Single Camera Photography.” The fourth season of EQUITREKKING is currently airing on public television stations nationwide.
BIZ KID$ – an innovative series that teaches financial responsibility, work readiness and entrepreneurship to young children – earned nominations for “Outstanding Achievement in Main Title Graphic Design” and “Outstanding Achievement in Single Camera Editing.”
