LIDIA'S ITALY is a celebration of the land Lidia Bastianich calls home. In her new series, Lidia journeys throughout Italy to sample and prepare local specialties from Rome, Naples, Padua, Sicily, Trieste and Istria.
A recipient of several prestigious awards, including the James Beard Foundation's Outstanding Chef, the Best Chef in NYC and the Wine Spectator's Grand Award, Lidia is the owner of the renowned Felidia Ristorante in New York City and the author of four, best-selling cookbooks.
Demonstrating the recipes that she’s encountered in her travels, Lidia transforms fresh, seasonal ingredients into creative appetizers, salads and soups, and delicious vegetable, pasta and seafood dishes. She is often joined in her kitchen by friends and family, including her daughter, art historian Tanya Bastianich Manuali, who introduces some of Lidia's favorite hidden cultural treasures, and her son, Joseph Bastianich, who frequently stops by to discuss regional wines.
Each thirty-minute episode is a rich blend of Old World knowledge and modern, imaginative ideas.
